The octet of troops, all clad in Blues
Stepped smartly two abreast
A solemn sergeant at his feet
Called cadence 'neath his breath
The men of war all matched their pace
to "All Crown the King of Grace"
With death grip held the casket bar
Wherein rode the President of Peace
The Glorious banner, Red, White and Blue
Atop the casket lay
The Satin Edges gently flew
While to cadence the detail swayed
Two Sailors led, at this ship's bow
And taught Marines and Soldiers how
The ocean rocks it's own to sleep
As Lieutenant Carter was sleeping now
They sailed right through a sea of kings
and nobles from many a realm
James Earl preached as he left the room
Jesus Christ is at the helm!
Some say that number thirty-nine
Did nothing much of note
Except he said "I'll never lie
or cheat to gather votes."
He kept his word as all agree,
and from that basis peace,
broke out in the most violent place
the bloodied middle-east.
In the 200th year of 'Merica
Nineteen Seventy Six
What she needed most
He restored to her, Integrity and grit.
So let us render slow salute,
bid fair winds and following seas,
to this son of the South, this teller of truth
Sailor, Scholar, President-Peach
But mostly a Disciple of Him who is Truth
A friend to the meek of the earth
Whether white man, Arab, Black-man, or Jew.
James Earl Carter - he was 100 PROOF !!
